According to IDACB, the market volume of blockchain technologies in 2017 was at least 411.5 million US dollars. The growth rate was significantly higher than previously forecasted. The total capitalization of global markets for blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies and digital assets rose from $ 6 billion to $ 100 - $ 140 billion. The total amount of private investment in blockchain in 2017 was $ 4.5 billion. Venture capital has reached 107 million dollars. ICO (Initial Coin Offering) projects attracted more than $ 236 million.
According to the IDACB research, the banking sector provided the highest growth of the market of blockchain technologies in 2017. 70% of banks around the world involved in blockchain technology or conducted experiments with the introduction of the blockchain. In 2017, the number of users of blockchain wallets reached 15 million people (an increase of 5 million compared to 2016).
One of the results of the IDACB survey was the ratings. Key areas have been identified in which the blockchain is actively used: banks, payment systems, cybersecurity, education, counting of votes in elections. The top countries are determined by the number of financial transactions involving blockchain technologies: the USA, Canada, Panama, Estonia, Denmark, Japan, South Africa and the UAE. The rating of "crypto capitals" is also available. The top 10 includes New York, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Los Angeles, Dubai, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Delhi.
